DO
NOT USE THESE FOR GAMBLING OF ANY KIND.....
Here are the directions to convert to quarters. It is very easy to do and should
only take about 5 minutes. When you are done it will accept and payout either
tokens or quarters BOTH.
Note : If your Coin mechanism
looks different than the one below then here is another method for Universal Type
Slots further down the page
| | |
| | | | |
| | | | | Step
1: Power on the machine. Step 2: Open the front of the machine
and look at the back of the front door. You will see a slide the coins ride down. NOTE:
if power is off then all coins are rejected. Also if you already inserted three
coins and are not in credit mode all after the third coin are rejected until you
play it out. | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | Step
3: Drop in a few tokens and watch them ride down the slide. Then drop
a few quarters and watch them fall out the back of the slide. The reason they
fall out the back is because they are slightly shorter than the token and the
square hole cut out in the slide allows the top edge of the quarter to fall out
and not the token. | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | Step
4: You need some ordinary every day type scotch
tape like that shown here. not the fancy pancy cloudy looking "magic"
tape. It needs to be the old fashioned type CLEAR scotch tape. The kind Grandma
used to have. | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | | | | Step
5: Power the machine OFF. Then lift up on plates
1 and plate 2 with one hand and slide a 21/2 inch piece of scotch tapeunder the
plates and across the front TOP of the square hole so that the top of the quarter
will slide along it instead of falling out.
| | | | | | | | | | | Congratulations,
you are done, Power back on and make sure it accepts quarters and tokens !
| | | Quarter
Conversion for Universal and Aruze Type Pachislos | Using
your key, open the front of the machine and locate the coin mechanism as shown
in Fig. 2.
Disconnect the plug (Fig. 2) and
then lift the lever on the left of the mechanism (Fig. 2) to remove it from the
machine as shown. | | As
shown in Fig. 3, gently squeeze the sides of the black plastic cover to remove
it. | | In
Fig. 4 you will see the metal bottom rail which you must adjust upward in order
to prevent the slightly smaller quarters from falling out. | | Turn
the unit over and you will see the two adjustment screws as shown in Fig. 5. Loosen
both screws and center them in their respective slots. When properly adjusted,
there should be a very small lip between the metal track and the plastic side
lip. Some adjustment may be necessary for reliable feeding. | | | You
will also notice that I added a small strip of plastic along the bottom rail to
ensure reliable feeding. I used hot glue to attach this strip. I found that after
some trial and error adjustments that this strip wasn’t needed, but it’s up to
you if you want to add it. |
| | | Before
reassembly, get a quarter or two and while holding the metal top rail in it’s
closed position (with the mechanism in the normal upright position) try feeding
quarters through the slot. They should, if adjusted properly, continue out to
the right side of the mechanism, NOT fall out the front. As stated previously,
some minor adjustment may be necessary.Find the
tabs on the plastic cover, which was removed in step 3. Gently snap the tabs back
into place. Use the photos as a reference. If it’s
not already open, open the front of your slot machine. Then, insert the small
pegs on the right side of the mechanism. Then snap in the other side. Give it
a little wiggle to make sure it’s properly seated.Re-insert
the plug into the proper socket. Be sure to turn it the right way before insertion.
It will only go one way, so DO NOT force it!!Close
up your machine and get a handful of quarters. Then have fun! If the machine is
properly adjusted, EVERY quarter should feed correctly. Tokens will also still
work. |
