Facing
the machine on the right side measure five (5) inches from back and six (6) inches
from bottom. Drill 1¼ inch hole, taking care to be sure that the hole is straight.
Install
bronze bushing (#1779) on the inside of 1¼-inch hole. See Figure #1.
Place
mounting place (#SLT-003) with t-bar assembly (#SLT-009) on the outside of the
machine. See Figure #2.
Drill
5/16-inch carriage bolt holes one at a time, inserting bolt (#1794) in each hole
as you go. This will ensure proper hole alignment. See Figure #3.
Remove
bolts, mounting plate and t-bar assembly.
Put
mounting plate (#SLT-003) with t-bar assembly (#SLT-009) on the inside of machine.
Install carriage bolts (#1794) with lock washers (#1789) and nuts (#1790). See
Figure #4.
Install
spring (#SLT-008) and lock in with additional nut (#1790).
See Figure #5.
Install
handle assembly (#SLT-010) into plastic cap (#SLT-006) and align threaded hole
in handle with hole in plastic cap and insert round head screw (#1787) and tighten
with screwdriver. See Figure #6.
Install
micro-switch (#1781) with two sheet metal screws (#1791).
See Figure #7.
Install
wires onto the micro-switch. Normally, wires should be installed to the normally
open configuration on the micro-switch (#1781). See Figure #8.
Install
wires to start knob assembly on the machine. Most start knob assemblies are of
a three-wire type. Determine which wires are connected to the start knob and follow
them to the circuit card above the start knob assembly. Turn on the machine; coin
the machine up to be ready to spin the reels then short out the second and third
posts briefly, use a screwdriver or jumper wire. This should start the reels spinning.
If it does, then attach the two wires from the micro-switch (#1781) to the two
wires you just shorted out. Attach the wires with the two (#1801) wire connectors.
Notice one side of the (#1801) wire connector is open; insert the wire from the
start knob assembly into the open side of the wire connector and the wire from
the micro-switch (#1781) into the other side. Then crimp the connector with a
pair of pliers; this should secure the wires in the connector. Then connect the
second wire into the second (#1801) wire connector. NOTE: If you have trouble
finding the right wires, contact the company you purchased the kit from for assistance.
Install
the extra nut (#1790) and vinyl tube (#SLT-007) onto the front lower carriage
bolt (#1794). See Figure #9.
Your
machine should now work with the start knob or the arm assembly.
